Biography

I started my musical life rather late at the age of 19. I was heavily into football as a kid but always loved Hard Rock Bands like Deep Purple, Kiss and AC/DC. My first attempt to play in a band was a AC/DC cover band and we were horrible! The whole goal was to be on stage and so get more attention by girls. Unfortunately there weren’t a lot of girls at Hard Rock concerts at that time in Germany so I tried the same concept in a funk and soul cover band. That worked better!

Well, that was the beginning and as I saw the chance to earn money through playing the guitar I started to teach on the side and played on functions, pubs, clubs and so forth. At the same time I started being serious about my skills and got a few jobs in studios...that was probably my best education. Play the notes and styles which were needed be a supporter for both the music and the guy or company which paid me. I think I still consider myself as worker in the music business rather than a musician or artist.

I went through quite a few bands until I got the job in a music store. The owner asked me to play a few times for a German string manufacturer (Pirastro) on the German Music Messe. At that time I started playing Bach and Paganini, which was 22 years ago something special as Yngwie just started to make the scene. Next year I played for Tom Anderson guitars than for Line6 and finally got spotted by the VP of Digitech at that time (John Batliner). He invited me to see the factory in SLC/USA and after meeting the engineers and the whole Digitech crew I was hooked. That was Feb 1999!

Since then I tour the world on behalf of Digitech, attend trade shows and conduct clinics and workshops. Since 2008 I was promoted to be a product specialist for the MI side of Dbx and all of the lexicon products.
